Correction
An optometrist will test your vision and determine the amount of refractive error in your eyes. The full prescription should correct your vision so that there is no blur at 20 feet.
A prescription may look like this:
Rx | SPH | CYL | AXIS | PRISM | BASE | Add |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
-O.D. | -2.0 | -0.5 | 130 | 1Δ | BO | +1.5 |
-O.S. | -2.25 | -0.75 | 42 | 2Δ | BI | +1.25 |
OD is oculus dextrus, or Latin for right eye. OD is oculus sinister, or Latin for left eye.
