For the most part, you should be bold and just change what you like. Sometimes there are disagreements between editors - in this case you should open up the issue for discussion on the talk page, notifying any editors who may be interested with {{re|user}} to get people's opinions.

No edit wars

Edit warring, where editors repeatedly restore their own revision to the page instead of discussing edits is really strongly discouraged. It's not productive, and is clearly Red:NOTHERE behaviour.

You can revert an edit by another editor about once. If there are still problems, just discuss it. Assume good faith! Most people are reasonable and just want to write the best article they can

Vandalism

Unless it's vandalism. Then you're welcome to edit war all you want, until an administrator blocks the user.

Exceptions

  • Where there are legal concerns
